This has been a busy week with ballroom dance. Last Saturday, Brooke danced at Black and White days in Richmond, Utah. On Wednesday, she danced at Dancing with the Stars at the High School. On Friday, both girls had their dance recital. They had a blast performing, but I'm glad that we will have a break for awhile.

Brooke's Softball
Last Tuesday was Brooke's first softball game. She hit the ball her first 3 times at bat and struck out her last time. She had a blast!!
Last Day of School
Thursday was our last day of school. I was able to get a few pictures of Brooke. One is in her classroom with some friends and the other one is during the field day activities.
Jenna's Black Eye
On Wednesday at school, Jenna ran into someone during gym. The lights were off for some unknown reason and of course, Jenna got hurt. I went and picked her up and got her settled with ice and ibuprophin and then went to work. A couple of hours later, I went and picked her up and took her back to school so she could go to the water party. This bruise appeared a few days later.
Dillon's Baseball
Here are some pictures of Dillon playing baseball. The boys are having a great season so far. They haven't lost a game. I hope that they continue to do well.

He got the Freedom Leadership Award, presented by the Kiwanis Club and a $50.00 savings bond. He got an award for High Honor Roll (4.0 gpa), and President's Education Awards Program for Outstanding Academic Excellence. Way to go Dillon. We are so proud of him!!!

Day 18
My plans, greams, goals for the future is to raise my kids to be the best that they can be. Hopefully their manners will kick in when they get older. I worry about them some days. I want them to be happy and healthy. As far as Jason and I, we eventually want to be able to do things that right now cost too much money when you drag 3 kids along. We want to travel, and spend quality time together.

Day 17
I have to admit that I really wouldn't want to switch lives with anyone for a day. Every one has problems, and I'll just stick with my own. I have often said that I would like to be a fly on the wall just to observe things, but not to switch. There are many people that it would be interesting to observe how they act in thier own homes with their spouses and children. Something like this would definately interst me more.

Day 16-Pet Peeves
Well, I've been trying realy hard to not let things bother me, but I am human and there are some things that set me off.
1-People who do not do what they say they are going to do. I like to think of myself as a reliable person, therefore everyone else should be also!
2-People who can't commit. It's either yes I can or no I can't! They act as if the are waiting for a better offer or something! Just let me know one way or the other!
3-White pants, capris and shorts drive me batty! A white skirt is fine, but for some reason, the others aren't! I have no idea where this one came from!
Anyway, I'll still keep on working on theese. Maybe someday I can get past it!

Day 14-My Family

I've decided to put a picture of my family and of Jason's family. We both come from small families. Jason has his mom, Linda, his step dad, Klaus, his brother Scott and his wife Krista and their 2 children Allyson and Andrew. My family has my dad, Dale, my mom, Dixie, my brother Loyd, his wife Kolette and their son Kole. The picture of my family was taken in April 2003. My dad passes away May 22, 2003 and my sister-in-law Kolette passes away December 10, 2007.

Day 10-Music
I have to admit that I don't listen to alot of music. Ilove music, and I love to sing, but when I'm home by nyself, I enjoy the quiet. When I do listen to music, I like to listen to Enya. In the car we also have the Hannah Montona movie soundtrack and I like to listen to that also. We also have 3 cd's of music from Disneyland and the Disney movies that I enjoy listening to. Other than that, I usually listen to the Sounf of Sunday on Q-92!

Day 9-Something I'm proud of
The last few days at our house have been very busy, but I'm proud of myself for two reasons. #1-I kept my cool when the basement flooded. I got right to work trying to soak up water and moving furniture. I am usually the one to get upset when something like this happens, so I'm giving myself 2 thumbs up. #2- I managed to weed all 3 of my flowerbeds this week-end. I hate weeding, and I've been putting it off. Now that it's done, it looks wonderful and makes me feel great. Now if the weeds would just stop growing, I'd have it made!!!
Day 8-Short Term Goals
I'm not big on setting goals. I uaually just see what needs to be done and try to jump in and do my best to get it done. May & June are going to be crazy for our family, so just surviving all that is going on will be a great goal.

Our Mini Disaster
Well, Friday was an interesting day at our house. The weather was beautiful, so we decided to do some work outside. Jason and the girls washed the cars and I mowed the lawn and weeded the flowerbeds. After all was said and done, the girls headed down to their bedroom and Jenna dropped something and reached down to pick it up, and her hand landed in water!! There was a huge puddle of water an their bedroom floor. They came and got Jason and I and we went down to inspect. Sure enough! Water!!! Aparantly, the outside water faucet that is right there by their bedroom has a leak. The water ran down the inside of the foundation and came out under the baseboard and just spread. It went under the wall and into Dillon's room and closet and got a good chunk of the girl's room. We had to move everything out of the girl's room. And we had to move Dillon bed and dresser out. We called Golightly's and they came and sucked all the water out and set up big fans for us. Then we had to pull off sheetrock and instulation form the girl's room and in Dillon's room. Jason has been able to find the problem, and thank goodness, it only leaks when the faucet is on. So now we are drying things out, and the kids are camped out in the family room. What a mess!!!
Day 7-greatest impacts
I can think of many things that have a great impact on my life. First would be the Gospel, and the Temple. Second would be my friends. Third, but mostly important are my family. My kids are awesome. They teach me many things and inspire me to be a better person. They are all a ton of fun and have such a zest for life. They have great personalities and love to have a great time. Jason means the world to me. He is such a support and inspiration in my life. I don't know what I would do without them.
Day 6-A Day Late

I don't really know that much about superheros. I just am not that interested in the comics, cartoons or movies. I've decided to do a favorite Disney character instead. My favorite and I don't even know why, has always been Goofy. Here are some pictures of Goofy and the girls the last time that we went to Disneyland!

And We're Off
We are officially off to a start for 2 extremely busy months. Dillon has started baseball practice. Jason is coaching his team(like he has so much spare time). They have their first game on Tuesday March 10th and they will play 3 games a week until the end of June. The girls tried out for Seussical the Musical that the local theatre is doing this Summer. They both got a part. Not huge parts, but lots of singing. They are so excited. They had their first practice yesterday. They will have their performances at the end of June. Brooke is going to play softball. They will have their first game sometime later in May. The girls are both in ballroom dance, and their year-end recital is on May 27th. Our Stake is going on the trek the end of June, and we are busy making preperations to go. The girls have also signed up to take sewing for 4-H this summer. I'm not sure when this will start, but I,m sure it will be before too long. Dillon will also be having Freshman basketball practices and tournaments throughout May & June. I hope that I didn't forget anything! Oh yeah, we still have 3 more weeks of school and we have many projects to finish. Jenna will be in 7th grade nest year and we will be starting a bug & plant collection this summer!!! The pictures are of the girls at their try-outs for the musical.
Day 5-Places that I have been

I mentioned on the first day, that I have been to Jamaica and Hawaii. I went on both of those trips while I was working as a travel agent. I went on both of them with other travel agents throughout the United States. It would have been fun to take Jason with me as they are both romantic places to go. Oh well, maybe someday. Here are lovely early 90's photos of me at both of the places. I loved them both, but I did enjoy Jamaica more.

Day 4-a Bad Habit
A habit that I wish I didn't have.....Wow there seems to be a few that I can think about that I don't want to mention! I will mention that I am quick to judge. I judge too quickly about people, money, plans for the future, etc. I know that it drives Jason crazy, but he is so impulsive at times that I figure that I need to be the resposible one and that drives him crazy. I wish that I could always be opptimistic and more go with the flow!

Day 3 Me and my Friends
I have to admit, that I do not have a very close tell all best girlfriend. I have many wonderful friends and many people that inspire me, but none that I hang out with on a regular basis. My best friend is my husband-Jason. We have been through many ups and downs together and we still love each other more than anything. He is always there for me and helps me through many, rough times. My children are also my best friends. Some days they drive me batty, but I wouldn't change a thing about them. I am including a picture of our family, because we are friends and that's who I hang out with on a regular basis.

Meaning of my blog
I realy don't have a meaning for the name of my blog. The Travis Family is who we are. Our Family is Forever is what we believe. It's as simple as that. I started my blog for my mother-in-law, Linda Oettle. She lives in Sacramento and we don't get to see her as often as we would like. It's hard to keep up on sending pictures, and the kids are growing fast and involved in many things. By having my blog, she can see what's going on and what the kids are doing. It's a great way to keep in touch over the miles!
Bloggers Unite
Well, here goes! I'm so not good at this sort of thing, but I will try. As you can see, I'm a day late, but better late than never. This is the most recent picture of me and my sweetheart. I usually don'y have any pictures of just myself, because I'm taking the pictures and I'm so not photogenic!!
15 interesting things about me:
1-I don't know how to swim and don't care for the water.
2-My husband and I met while working at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Sacramento, California.
3-I was in Arrow Fight my Freshman year of High School.
4-I am high strung.
5-I have a salt & pepper collection that I started when I was 10.

7-My first job was picking raspberries in Bear Lake when I was 12.
8-I don't like people who are fake--I love you for who you are, and you love me for who I am!
9-I went to a Travel Agent Institute and worked as a travel agent for 5 years.
10-My favorite food is Mexican, but I hate tomatoes and onions.
11-I've been to Hawaii, Jamaica, on a cruise to Canada and to Washington DC.
12-My favorite flowers are daisies.
13-I hate to clean house and cook, but I'm getting better at it over the years.
